PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue to filter the slurry supplied to a filter press while circulating the slurry through slurry holes of the filter press and a slurry circulating line arranged on the outside of the filter press so that cake is not stock to the slurry holes. SOLUTION: A passage to a slurry hole formed on a filter plate on one side of the filter press is connected to another passage to another slurry hole formed on another filter plate on the other side of the filter press through the slurry circulating line arranged on the outside of the filter press. This filter press is provided with a pressure slurry tank connected to the middle of the slurry circulation line for housing the slurry, a slurry supplying pump for supplying the slurry to the slurry tank and a slurry circulating pump connected to the middle of the slurry circulating line for circulating the slurry through the slurry circulating line and the slurry tank so that the prescribed flow velocity can be kept in each of the slurry holes.
