PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjusting jig for an obstruction sensor provided for a legged locomotion robot, which facilitates mounting of a sensor on the robot and adjustment of the sensor. SOLUTION: The adjusting jig is comprised of a first plate (horizontal plate 22) having a referential plane with a predetermined length in a detecting direction of the obstruction sensor (S), a positioning means (holding frame 23) arranged at one end of the first plate in order to define a stationary location of the self-contained locomotion robot (R), and a target means (26) consisting of a second plate (24) and a third plate (25). The second and third plates are vertically erected at the other end of the first plate, and arranged so that mutually facing surfaces thereof are not in parallel with each other as viewed from above. By virtue of the structure of the adjusting jig, the obstruction sensor is only mounted on the robot such that a detection value obtained from a referential target is set to a command value, and therefore positioning of the sensor with high accuracy is achieved without bothersome measuring of a mounting angle, a mounting location, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
