<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phenyl ester by performing the reaction of benzene with a carboxylic acid and molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst, maintaining the activity of the catalyst and producing the ester more stably. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing a phenyl ester is provided by performing the reaction of benzene with the organic carboxylic acid and molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst obtained by the silylation treatment of a catalyst consisting of at least 1 kind of element selected from a main catalyst element group consisting of palladium, platinum, rhodium, iridium and ruthenium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
