PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent impact noise when a paper sheet collides with a pair of resist rollers without hindering a function of the pair of resist rollers for accurately deciding the resist position of the paper sheets, and to effectively prevent the impact noise even in the case of feeding thick paper sheets. SOLUTION: This paper sheets carrying device 1 is provided with a paper feeding roller 5 for feeding the paper sheets P housed in a paper feeding tray 3 one by one, carrying rollers 7 and 9 for carrying the paper sheets P to the pair of resist rollers 11, and the pair of resist rollers 11 for stopping the paper sheets once and for carrying the paper sheets with the predetermined timing. A paper sheets detecting means 23 for detecting the paper sheets P is provided in this side of the pair of resist rollers 11, and the pair of resist rollers 11 are rotated for the predetermined time when the paper sheets detecting means 23 detects a tip of the paper sheet.
