<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compactly structured outboard motor capable of preventing the external air containing moisture from ill influencing its engine, enhancing the cooling performance, and suppressing the temperature of the fuel becoming too high. <P>SOLUTION: The outboard motor is equipped with the engine 9 where a propelling unit 6 is supported on the hull 1 through a swivel bracket 33 and which generates a driving force for propelling inside a cowl of the propelling unit 6 and a fuel tank 116 to supply fuel to the engine 9, wherein inside the cowl is partitioned by a bulkhead, and a fuel tank chamber A is formed in the upper part while an engine room B is formed in the lower part, and the bulkhead is furnished with communication hole 170 to put the fuel tank chamber A in communication with the engine room B, and external air is introduced to the fuel tank chamber A and fed to the engine room B via the hole 170. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
