<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can be easily manufactured even without using a hologram and can be miniaturized and made to be thin. <P>SOLUTION: A lead frame 100 includes a board 140 and a laser diode 110. An upper opening 91 and a lower opening 92 are formed on an upper side and a lower side of the lead frame 100, respectively. A through hole 93 is formed in a central portion of an optical element support 108 and communicates with an optical element installation space 102 and a photodiode installation space 104 which is defined by the optical element support 108 and a lower side wall 109. The laser diode 110 is mounted on a laser diode support 118. The optical element 120 is disposed within the optical element installation space 102 to direct the laser beam emitted from the laser diode 110 toward an optical medium through the upper opening 91 and to transmit the laser beam to the photo diode 150 mounted on the board 140. The position of the photo diode is adjusted while monitoring the laser beam converged on the photo diode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
