PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a proximity switch capable of manufacturing the proximity switch having excellent resistance against environment for use such as impact resistance, high-temperature resistance, water resistance, and oil resistance. SOLUTION: An outer mold is applied to a reed switch whose glass portion is coated with soft resin by transfer molding, and a substrate assembly on which a component including the outer molded reed switch is mounted is fluid- tightly sealed by hard filling resin or integrally formed by transfer molding.
