PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a seal member of a fuel pressure pump in a return-less type fuel supplying device. SOLUTION: This fuel pressure pump for an internal combustion engine comprises a cylinder portion 411, a plunger 45 slidably fitted in the cylinder portion 411 pressurizing fuel in a pressurizing chamber 442 formed at one end of the cylinder portion 411 by reciprocating movement thereof, a fuel supplying passage 443 supplying the fuel to the pressurizing chamber 442, a seal member 48 sealing a space between a cylinder inner peripheral surface (an inner peripheral surface of an auxiliary cylinder 477) and an outer peripheral surface of the plunger 45 at a position out of a sliding portion where the cylinder portion 441 and the plunger 45 are slid with each other, a fuel collecting portion 448, and a communicating passage 450 communicating the fuel collecting portion 448 and the fuel supplying passage 443.
