<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which improves considerably the visibility of recording papers discharged from a discharge section. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 10, a reading unit 12 is placed at the upper part of a recording unit 11, and a discharge section 16 for recording papers 16 is formed at one side part of the upper surface of the recording unit 11.
