PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument having high measurement accuracy as well as a spindle of high speed moving. SOLUTION: On a main body 2, a spindle 3 which is screwed into the main body and moves back and forth in the axial direction with its screw-rotation and a measuring instrument l for measuring dimensions or the like of a measured object from a quantity of displacement in the axial direction of the spindle 3 in accordance with a rotating quantity of the spindle 3, the spindle 3 and the main body 2 are threadedly fitted with each other with a multiple thread screw 31.
