PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To temporally and efficiently execute the recovering processing from any failure by minimizing the deterioration of normal reading/writing processing when any failure has occurred in a storage device having redundancy against the failure of at least two storage media. SOLUTION: A plurality of independent storage media are set as a set, and data are divided into bits, bytes, or arbitrary units, and stored in each storage medium, and the reading/writing of the data is executed in parallel. When the reading/writing of the data is executed, error check is executed, and the storage medium where any failure has occurred is discovered by the error check when any failure has occurred 10, and the data in the storage medium where any failure has occurred are recovered before occurrence of failures of a prescribed number of storage media while the normal reading/writing processing is executed, and the recovered data are stored in a preliminary storage medium according to the state of the failure (40) while normal reading/ writing processing or failure recovering processing (50) (60) is given priority.
