EMULSION AND EMULSION COATING MATERIAL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion composition which excels in adhesion, water resistance, and corrosion prevention, can achieve a high external appearance as a coating material, and is particularly suited as a coating material for adhesive-difficulty metals such as a magnesium alloy and an aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: The emulsion coating material composition comprises an acrylic emulsion obtained by subjecting (a) an epoxy group-containing unsaturated monomer and (b) a hydroxyl group-containing unsaturated monomer to emulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium with the use of (A) a reactive emulsifier agent having an unsaturated double bond in the molecule and (B) an imidazole group-containing polymerization initiator.
