The telecommunications terminal, for connection to a telecommunications network, has at least one cradle or hook switch (5). The switch has a set of contacts (2) for activating or deactivating the terminal. A control device (1) is provided. The switch is connected to one input of the control device. The switch has a further set of contacts (3) connected to another input of the control device. Each set of contacts (2,3) is switchedly connected to a respective power supply line. Independent claims also cover the switch itself.
