<p>Plastics materials are extruded by a screw which rotates in a cylinder. The cylinder carries over its whole length a number of heaters which heat the cylinder inner wall above plasticising temp. of the material. A special high power heater is attached to the cylinder near the inlet opening. An insulated flange connects the inlet section to the heated cylinder. The arrangement is used for extruding high m.wt. olefin plastics.</p> |
