ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE DISCHARGE GENERATOR AND CHARGE NEUTRALIZER

An atmospheric pressure discharge generator for generating stable glow discharge under the atmospheric pressure and a charge neutralizer comprising the atmospheric pressure discharge generator and adapted to neutralize the charge of a charged body requiring minute ion balance control by generating stable glow discharge under the atmospheric pressure without producing ozone with good ion balance. The atmospheric pressure glow discharge generator comprises a salient electrode (1) having a salient portion (11), a hollow electrode (2) having a small hole (21) opposed to the salient portion (11), and a power supply (41) for generating AC voltage to be applied to the salient electrode (1). The size of the small hole (21) is 0.1 to 0.5 mm. The distance between the salient electrode (1) and the hollow electrode (2) is 0.2 mm or less. When the power supply (41) applies a voltage to the salient electrode (1), a stable glow discharge is caused under the atmospheric pressure.
