<p>A method and apparatus for fixedly attaching modular tiles. The present invention uses a combination of a surface to be covered, a modular tile (1), a mounting plate (2), a peg (4) and a wedge (3). Alternately, the present invention can also be used without the mounting plate (2). The present invention first securely fastens the peg (4) to the surface to be covered. Next, the modular tile (1), with an aperture matching the peg (4), is placed over the peg (4) and is seated flush against the surface. Next, the mounting plate (2), with an aperture (8) matching the peg (4), is placed over the peg (4) and is seated flush against the modular tile.(1). A wedge (3) is then securely placed into an aperture (5) located on the peg(4), thus compressing the underlying components and securely locking them in place.</p> |
