PURPOSE: A ceiling type air conditioner for heating and cooling is provided to allow hot air current to reach a floor. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes a casing laid in a ceiling, and having an inlet formed on a center of a bottom thereof, and a first outlet, a second outlet, a third outlet and a fourth outlet formed in a circumferential direction of the inlet; a fan placed in the casing to supply air introduced through the inlet into a room through the first outlet, the second outlet, the third outlet and the fourth outlet; an indoor heat exchanger placed in the casing in a circumferential direction of the fan; a first louver, a second louver, a third louver and a fourth louver placed to open and close the outlets; a first connecting member and a second connecting member having both ends joined to rotary axes of the louvers neighboring on each other so as to rotate; a first driving part and a second driving part rotating the first connecting member and the second connecting member in normal direction and reverse direction, respectively; an operation mode selecting part(41) selecting one of heating mode and cooling mode; and a control part(43) controlling the first driving part and the second driving part to allow one pair of the louvers to open the corresponding outlets if the other pair of the louvers close the corresponding outlets. |
