The apparatus includes an ultrasound unit, which is connected to an ultrasonic detector (10) for generating ultrasound signals and receiving reflected ultrasound signals. The ultrasound unit includes an impulse generator (18), a mixing unit (16) and a filter unit (24,26,30) and is connected to a signal evaluation unit for conditioning and displaying data generated from the reflected ultrasound signals. An A/D converter (14), whose digital output signal is mixed with a mixing signal of the impulse generator follows the ultrasonic detector. |
