PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of welding, for example, an end plate 2 which is a metallic plate to an end face of, for example, a wide flange shape 1 which is a metallic material without producing strain therein. SOLUTION: After a doubling plate 3 is superposed on the end plate 2 and both are integrated, the end plate 2 and the wide flange shape 1 are subjected to normal welding by welding W and thereafter the doubling plate 3 is removed. The integration of the end plate 2 and the doubling plate 3 is performed by bolt joining utilizing bolt through-holes 2a... bored for the purpose of joining a column to the end plate 2.
