PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separating apparatus whose capacity for treating oil-containing water is improved as a whole. SOLUTION: A liquid (oil-containing water) to be cleaned and fed in a circulating route 12 is preliminarily pretreated with a pre-filter unit 4 and the pretreated liquid is treated with a hollow fiber membrane 14 on the route 12. As a result, the liquid to be cleaned can be filtered more easily than the conventional method for directly filtering the non-pretreated liquid, the throughput of the liquid to be cleaned can be increased and the capacity of this apparatus for treating the liquid to be cleaned can be improved as a whole.
