PURPOSE:To obtain optimum musical sounds by both a monophonic musical performance and a chord musical performance only by playing the electronic musical instrument normally. CONSTITUTION:A CPU discriminates between the monophonic musical performance and chord musical performance as to a key-ON event through steps Sa2, Sa3, Sa5, etc., corresponding to a control program in a ROM. At the time of the monophonic musical performance, the generation of a sound with the timbre of the monophonic performance is indicated to a sound source circuit in a step Sa4. At the time of the chord musical performance, on the other hand, the generation of sounds with the timbre of the chord musical performance is indicated to the sound source circuit in a step Sa6. The sound source circuit generates and outputs a musical sound signal corresponding to respective parameter values of a timbre program which is previously set corresponding to the indicated timbre. |
