PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed reproduction processing method of an information reproducing device with which the readout speed can be shortened when information recorded in a preliminary area is read out, and an information reproducing device. SOLUTION: The method of reproducing an information recording medium having an information recording area, a preliminary area where the information is recorded instead of a defective part occurring in the information recording area, and a defect management area where defect management information managing the preliminary area address of the information recorded in the preliminary area and the defective address of the defective part includes: reproducing the defect management information stored in the defect management area and deciding whether the distance between the preliminary area address and defective address is larger than a specified value from the defect management information; storing the information recorded in the preliminary area address when the distance is larger than the specified value; deciding whether the address of the information matches the preliminary area address when the information recorded in the information recording area is reproduced; and reproducing the stored information when they match each other.
