PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information equipment which enhances precision in IR communication and communication speed and enlarges a communication angle and a communication range and also to provide a method and a program for controlling the equipment and a storage medium.

SOLUTION: The information equipment is provided with a reception error detecting means 107 for detecting an error in reception data and a phase correcting circuit 108 for changing-over the receivable pulse width range of a reception signal through the use of a detection result by the reception error detecting means 107.
