PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a receptacle connector capable of surely retaining contacts even if the contacts are miniaturized and the density of the contacts are increased. SOLUTION: Insert molding of a base insulator 5 is carried out so that firstly, retaining parts 73 of contacts 7 are tentatively fixed to respective facing inside wall surfaces of a through-hole 41 of a cover insulator 4, an insulating member 9 is then pressed in between the retaining parts 73 of the tentatively fixed facing contacts 7, and finally, an end of the cover insulator 4 on the side of terminal parts 74 and part of the terminal part 74 of each contact 7 are built in the inside of the base insulator 5.
