<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical communication equipment capable of measuring the light intensity margin for each transmission line. <P>SOLUTION: The optical communication equipment for which light is a transmission medium is provided with an optical transmission part 101 where a transmission light intensity is variable, an optical reception part 102 capable of measuring a reception light intensity, a test data generation part 106 generating test data to be transmitted for a test, a data error detection part 107 detecting a data error from the received test data, a means for transmitting the test data while gradually weakening the transmission light intensity from the maximum and a means for measuring the light intensity margin on the basis of the reception light intensity when the data error is detected from the received test data and when it is not detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
