DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LUMINAIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost discharge lamp lighting device suited for automatically feeding a base side insulating sheet and reducing the cost for machining and storing the sheet.

SOLUTION: A circuit module 16 having a printed wiring board 31 is disposed between a base case 11 and a cover case 12 and the module is supposed to be the discharge lamp lighting device 5 insulated by a base side insulating sheet 14 covering the inside of the case 12 and a cover side insulating sheet 15 covering the inside of the case 11. The sheet 14 before incorporated in the case 11 is planar and provided with hole rows 27 formed of multiple long holes provided at prescribed intervals apart toward the both ends in the width direction. The sheet 14 is characterized in being bent into a U-shape along the hole rows 27 by pushed in the case 11, covering inside of a base main wall 11a in a part 14a between hole rows, and covering the inside of a base-sidewalls 11b in a part 14b extending from the hole row 27 to the width directional end.
