PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnetic synchronous linear motor with high accuracy, capable of minimizing generation of cogging thrust during processing or assembling, such as pitch error in teeth of an armature and a magnet of a field pole, variations in material properties of elements or the like. SOLUTION: This linear motor comprises the field pole (not illustrated) and the armature arranged so as to face the field pole via a magnetic gap, where an auxiliary teeth 53 is arranged on an end part of an armature core 51. In the linear motor, there is provided an auxiliary teeth position adjusting means 7 capable of changing the position of the auxiliary teeth 53 for main teeth 51b on the auxiliary teeth 53. The auxiliary teeth adjusting means 7 consists of a fixed screw 71 screwed on a male screw part 61 of an armature- attaching plate 6 and provided so as to press the top surface of the auxiliary teeth 53 from the armature-attaching plate 6 side, and an adjusting screw 72 inserted into a drilled hole 62 on the armature-attaching plate 6 and provided so as to be screwed onto a female thread part 53a of the auxiliary teeth 53.
