PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Internet facsimile machine where a receiver side can perform proper processing depending on the information of a valid period for storing original image data from a transmitter side. SOLUTION: When a valid period of the original image data is a 'semi- permanent valid period' (YES in a step S55), a main control section 1 for a receiver side transmits an image data request for image data with higher quality than that of simple image data to a transmitter side (step S56) without storing the received simple image data into an image data memory area 8a of a compact flash memory 8. Further, when the valid period of the original image data is a 'temporary valid period' (NO in a step S55), the received simple image data are used for final image data, and transmission of the image data request for the image data with higher quality than that of the simple image data to the transmitter side is inhibited (step S59).
