The device has a detection unit with a measuring laser for contactless detection of mechanical oscillation signals, adjusted via a fine positioning mechanism, with a detection device for automatic detection of measuring points (24). The detected oscillation signals are fed to a processor with an evaluation unit, evaluating the oscillation signals via an evaluation method assigned to each detected measuring point. An Independent claim for a method for detection and evaluation of mechanical oscillation signals is also included.
