The assembly for the storage of drinking water has a water tank (1) with a level monitor (2), a contact manometer (3) and a non-return valve (4). A second air tank (5) and a compressed air connection is switched on by a magnet valve (9) or manually. The two tanks are interlinked by a pipe connection so that, when the first tank is full, an overflow into the second tank cannot occur. The air pressure in the second tank is held at a sufficiently high level so that, when the water is at rest, it is at a level between slightly under 100% (N2) and 120% (N4).
