PURPOSE: A refrigerator with a function of pre-frosting is provided to improve efficiency of heat exchange by suppressing formation of frost on an evaporator and to extend defrosting period of the evaporator. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator includes a main body(11) having a freezer compartment(21) and a refrigerator compartment(41) formed therein, and a circulation channel(24) formed for air in the freezer compartment and the refrigerator compartment to circulate and to be cooled down; an evaporator(26) placed in the circulation channel to cool down air; and a frosting member(51), a metal member, placed on an upper stream of the evaporator to suppress frosting of the evaporator. The frosting member is formed as a reticular body having a plurality of meshes placed crosswise to flowing direction of air flowing along the circulation channel. A frosting member defrosting heater(53) is placed on a lower side of the frosting member. A bottom area on which the frosting member is installed is formed to be inclined so that defrosted water flows to a defrosted water tray(31) formed on a lower side of the evaporator. The frosting member removes moisture contained in air introduced from the freezer compartment and the refrigerator compartment.
