The invention relates to a method for determining local similarity values for subterranean geological entities from a 3D seismic measured data set, comprising a number of traces, each formed from a series of data points with amplitude values or seismic attributes derived therefrom with the following steps: assignment of a weighted environment to a given analysis point, whereby the data points in the vicinity of the analysis point are given weighting factors corresponding to a weighting function and calculation of similarity values in each weighted environment, whereby the weighting function is contained in the level of similarity. The invention particularly relates to a method for determination of local slope-dependent similarity values with the steps: assignment of a weighted environment to a given analysis point, whereby the data points in the vicinity of the analysis point are given weighting factors corresponding to a weighting function and calculation of similarity values in each weighted environment, whereby the weighting function is contained in the level of similarity and, for discrete spatial orientations, similarity values are determined, represented as at least a function of a slope angle and a slope azimuth and determination of the largest similarity value in each weighted environment of an analysis point, which are assigned to the relevant analysis point, together with the corresponding slope angle and slope azimuth. |
