Portable electronic device (1) has a movement sensor for detection of the movement of the device and a processor for program execution, whereby the program commands are input using the movement signals. Movement signals are used to control movement of a cursor (13) on the screen (3). An Independent claim is made for an adapter or add-on device for coupling to a mobile device, where said adapter incorporates a movement sensor, processor and appropriate software.
