PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an engine capable of controlling a temperature of cooling water in accordance with a driver's driving style to improve fuel economy and an output from a broader viewpoint. SOLUTION: A learned value of load change rate of the engine is calculated by load information calculation means 11, 12. If the learned value is larger than a predetermined value, the predetermined temperature for switching and controlling a control valve 5 is set to a first predetermined temperature by a temperature setting means 13 to control cooling water to a low temperature. On the contrary, if the learned value is smaller than the predetermined value, the predetermined temperature is set to a second predetermined temperature on a higher temperature side than the first predetermined temperature to control cooling water to a high temperature.
