PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a typing practice system enabling a user to effectively practice typing by giving an exercise suitable for the user's level and to learn 'One Hundred Tanka Poems by On Hundred Celebrated Poets' or a fixed form phrase. SOLUTION: The typing practice system 10 is constituted of a display section 17, a keyboard 16, an input/output control section 15 for controlling the display section 17 and the keyboard 16, a KANA conversion dictionary DB 13 for storing a KANA conversion dictionary, an exercise DB 22 for storing exercises for typing practice of 'One Hundred Tanka Poems by One Hundred Celebrated Poets' or fixed form phrases, a result DB 23 for recording the result of the typing practice, a main control section 11 which selects a prescribed exercise to be compared with characters or signs inputted from the keyboard and records the result in the result DB 23, and a level check section 21 which displays, based on the result of typing practice, the user's typing level, weak items and/or an instruction to practice on the display section 17.
