PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meter and a pointer fitting method to the meter which makes unnecessary a meter reversal process for fitting a rear cover to a case, without applying stresses to an electric circuit board directly. SOLUTION: A rotation shaft 12 to which a pointer 2 is fitted, penetrates a movement 11 so that its one end part 12a and the other end part 12b protrude. Inserting the one end 12a of the rotation shaft into an inserting hole 10, the movement 11 is fitted to the electric circuit board 9, and is connected electrically. The case 8 has an opening 7 from which the one end 12a of the rotation shaft is exposed, and covers the surface of the circuit board 9. A fixing means 14 for fixing the circuit board 9 to the case 8 is provided. The back cover 13 has an exposing hole 15 for exposing the other end 12b of the rotation shaft, and is fitted to the case 8 in such a way as to cover the backside of the circuit board 9.
