PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophobic silicic acid-containing silicone rubber compound that has high luminance factor. SOLUTION: The silicone rubber compound comprises 0.5-60 mass% of hydrophobic silicic acid that has following properties: >3.1% carbon content; >60% methanol wettability; >94% luminance factor; 1< BET/CTAB ratio <3; <230 g DBP absorption/100 g; 50-110 m<SP>2</SP>/g BET surface area; >30 m<SP>2</SP>/g CTAB surface area; <1.3 moisture absorption at 30°C and 30RF; <1.7 moisture absorption at 30°C and 70 RF and 30-99.5 mass % of organopolysiloxane represented by the formula: Z<SB>n</SB>SiR<SB>3-n</SB>-O-[SiR<SB>2</SB>O]<SB>x</SB>-SiR<SB>3-n</SB>-Z<SB>n</SB>.
