PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a styrenated phenol useful as a dumping property-imparting agent, and the like. SOLUTION: The dumping property-imparting agent comprises at least one phenol selected from phenol compounds and alkyl phenol compounds and a styrenated phenol having 200-1,000 weight-average molecular weight or an oligomer composed mainly of the styrenated phenol, wherein the styrenated phenol is obtained by reacting 1-5 mole styrene with 1 mole phenol in the presence of an acid catalyst. The dumping material is obtained by compounding the dumping property-imparting agent to rubber or a resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
