The invention concerns an assembly for binding a boot on a gliding or roller board comprising two rear and front retaining elements (42, 43) adjustable in longitudinal position. The assembly comprises at least a ruler (45, 48) having a distance-graduated scale (11), at least a reading head (49, 93) including a reading element adapted to read the divisions of the ruler, a processing circuit, a display unit for displaying a digital value or a pictogram corresponding to the spacing between the retaining elements and preferably to their centering relative to the ski centremark.
