PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of reproducing a high definition image even on all of recording materials by ink jet recording, ink, final printed matter and a recording apparatus.

SOLUTION: In the image forming method for discharging ink cured by the irradiation with active rays by a recording head having a plurality of nozzles capable of selectively controlling the discharge of ink drops, an active ray irradiation condition after the arriving of the ink at a recording material is changed according to the kind of the recording material.
