PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot device capable of improving its entertainment property and a method of controlling it. SOLUTION: In the robot device and the method of controlling it, the robot device is made to create a feeling according to the external and/or internal status of the robot device, and an action parameter is varied according to the status of the current feeling for developing action according to the varied parameter. In addition, a feeling is created according to the external and internal status of the robot device, and an action is determined according to the status of the current feeling, and the action is made to develop in the robot device according to the parameter of the determined action, and the status of the feeling is varied based on the parameter of the developed action.
