PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal-milled state estimating apparatus coping with various kinds of coal with which a mill can be controlled under more favorable conditions. SOLUTION: This coal-milled state estimating apparatus coping with various kinds of coal is used for estimating the coal-milled state of a coal milling apparatus 100 which is installed in a coal-firing boiler to use several kinds of coal having different behaviors and states as fuel, which has a roll 3 for milling various kinds of coal and a rotary classifier 6 and in which the milled coal is transported by primary air 5. A fineness indexing value Pass showing the fineness of the milled coal is estimated according to a plurality of the state quantities of the amount Mc and the water content Xc of the coal to be supplied to the apparatus 100, the pressure Poil to be applied to the roll 3, the rotational speed MRS of the classifier 6, the flow rate Ma of the primary air 5 and a hardness index estimation value HGI showing the hardness of the milled coal.
