PURPOSE: A signal transmitting and receiving apparatus of a video display system is provided to transmit and receive signals through laser optical communication to restrain signal attenuation and radiation of electromagnetic wave due to cables. CONSTITUTION: A signal transmitting and receiving apparatus of a video display system includes a transmitter(100) and a receiver(200). The transmitter has a video signal output unit, a synchronous signal output unit, a data output unit, an A/D converter for converting analog data into digital data according to vertical/horizontal synchronous signals output from the synchronous signal output unit, a mixer for mixing the digital data with RGB video signals output from the video signal output unit, a code address unit for allocating an address to the mixed signal, a coding provider for giving a code to the signal, and a laser communication transmitter for transmitting the signal in the form of a laser signal. The receiver includes a laser communication receiver for receiving the laser signal, a decoder for code of the received signal, a code address unit for storing the address allocated to the received signal, a synchronous signal separator for separating the vertical/horizontal synchronous signals from the received signal, and a D/A converter for converting the signal into an analog video signal. |
