PRINTING METHOD FOR INCREASING PRINTING SPEED BY STORING DIFFERENT PRINT DRIVERS AND PRINTER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A printing method for increasing a printing speed by storing different print drivers and a printer using the same are provided to print any document at the optimum printing speed in any environment by integrating two printer drivers having different merits and demerits, and selecting a printer driver according to kinds of documents and kinds of printers. CONSTITUTION: A user prepares a document and opens the document(200). The user selects "print" menu in an application menu(210). The user selects an integrated printer driver installed in a personal computer having the prepared document(220). The user clicks a print button and prints the document(230). A control unit analyzes a GDI(Graphics Display Interface) function being transmitted to the printer driver(240). The control unit receives engine speed information of the printer(250) and analyzes the GDI function and the engine speed information of the printer(260). It is checked whether the document is a complex document constituted by many graphic images based on GDI function analysis data(270). If the document is a complex document constituted by many graphic images, a GDI mode is selected and executed(310). The printer driver creates a GDI command in accordance with the selected printer driver mode(320). The created GDI command is transmitted to the printer, the printer interprets the transmitted command in accordance with a GDI emulation(350). The printer prints the document on a paper(360).
