PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly general-purposed image processing system capable of processing, at a high speed, image data read by a continuously readable scanner. SOLUTION: The system is composed of a high speed scanner 1, an image processing software 2, a screen control thread 21, a scanner processing thread 22, and an image processing thread 23. The scanner processing thread 22 actuates a high speed scanner 1 to continuously read slips and receives read image data. The image processing thread 23 applies a character recognition process and a base removing process to the image data received by that thread 22 to convert the image file format and output the data.
