<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow highly-flexibility diagnosis of battery degradation of a hybrid vehicle, regardless of casual battery conditions during travel. <P>SOLUTION: A determination zone is set to diagnose degradation on a travel route. When entering the zone (S1), traveled distance of an engine R is started to be detected (S4). After travel in the determination zones completed, the engine travel distance R is corrected based on the road information related to the zone. A corrected travel distance R0 calculated based on the result is compared to a reference value F (S8).
