PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide face glass for a fluorescent character display tube, which keeps enough a dead space inside the fluorescent character display tube without changing outline dimensions of the fluorescent character display tube. SOLUTION: The face glass for the fluorescent character display tube comprises, front glass, spacer glass which is sealed to the periphery of the front glass in a prescribed thickness, and an exhaust tube which is fixed with frits to an opening which is formed at a side of the spacer glass, wherein the opening has a stopper which prevents the end surface of the exhaust tube from jutting out inside the inner peripheral surface of the spacer glass.
