PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for demodulating a regenerative signal are provided to demodulate regenerative data in real time by speeding up a demodulating operation of the regenerative data. CONSTITUTION: An input data sequencer(111) combines regenerative data inputted from a PLL(Phase Locked Loop) unit(100) with stored data which is not demodulated, according to a demodulation-completed data bit index, so that the input data sequencer makes data to be demodulated as many as the set bit index. A pattern comparator(113) receives the data to be demodulated, compares patterns of the data with data patterns of a table preliminarily stored. The pattern comparator generates a demodulation-completed data bit index and a demodulated data bit index for providing the demodulation-completed data bit index to the input data sequencer. An output data sequencer(115) receives the demodulated data and the demodulated data bit index from the pattern comparator for shifting the demodulated data according to the demodulated data bit index and combining the demodulated data as many as the preliminarily set bit index, and outputting demodulation-completed data.
