<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which is capable of improving its characteristics such as a discharge capacity and a charge-discharge cycle characteristic by improving a chemical stability of an electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: This battery comprises wound electrode bodies 20 in which adjacent electrodes of a positive one 21 and a negative one 22 are wound with the separator 23 sandwiched in between. And the negative electrode 22 is made to extract a lithium metal while being charged and its volume is represented by addition of a volume constituent induced by occlusion and separation and a volume constituent induced by extraction and dissolution. Further, the separator 23 is impregnated with an electrolyte in whose solvent lithium base is dissolved, and as the electrolyte is added with a crown ether group or a grime group, stable coatings of an ether family are formed on the surfaces of the negative electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
