<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a compressed instruction code so as to reduce program capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A processor 120 includes a conversion table storage unit 302 that stores a table for converting an index included in a compressed instruction code into an uncompressed instruction code; and a conversion unit 304 that receives the compressed instruction code to extract the index and a parameter from the received instruction code, converts the extracted index into uncompressed instruction code, incorporates the parameter into converted uncompressed instruction code to restore the instruction code, and transmits the restored instruction code to an instruction decode unit 240. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
